Plate and frame oil filter is a kind of mechanical equipment that filters solid impurities and water in oil and improves oil quality.
The plate and frame oil filter is composed of filter bed, oil pump and coarse filter. The filter plate and the filter frame are lined with filter paper or filter cloth as a filter medium, and the filter plate and filter frame are fixed to form a separate filter chamber by the pressure of the pressing device, and the filter paper or filter cloth is pressed between the filter plate and the filter frame.
The plate and frame oil filter has the advantages of simple structure, easy operation and low running cost.
Plate and frame oil filter is mainly used to filter transformer oil, turbine oil, oil, diesel, aviation hydraulic oil and other oil in the trace water and impurities, can also use stainless steel materials for vegetable oil filtration.
Application:
Oil Filter is made up of filter plate, filterframe, oil pump, and filter cloth adopts thegear pump to supply oil. The cloth is fittedbetween the oil filter plate and the filterframe, which is formed into a single filtrationchamber under the pressure of thecompacting device. The filter cloth or papercompressed tightly between the plate andthe frame is used to filter the residue fromthe oil.
The plate and frame oil filter is advanced expeller which is widely used in pressing oil from vegetable oil seeds, such as soybean, peanut, sunflower seeds, cotton seeds, sesame, tea seeds, copra, jatropha seeds, castor seed, etc. And the product oil is for both edible and biodiesel fuel purpose. Operating rules for plate and frame oil filter machines
Before operation, the perforated filter paper is carefully sandwiched between each filter plate and filter frame. The number of each layer of filter paper is generally 1-2 pieces, depending on the requirements of filtration and the quality of filter paper. When clamping filter paper, do not offset resulting in leakage, affecting the filtering effect.
The filter paper should be dried before use, and the drying temperature is about 120ºC.
When using the used filter paper, the filter paper must be dried, and there should be no damage, pay attention to the side of the filter slag (that is, the dirty side) should be placed against the filter frame, and should not be the filter plate, so as to avoid the filter slag being washed down during the filter and contaminating the filtered oil.
When the filter pressure is high and the filter paper is found to break through, the filter cloth can be lined on the side of the filter plate to increase the strength of the filter.
After the filter paper is placed, turn the handwheel to press the filter plate tightly. Only one person is allowed to press the plate, and the clamping handle cannot be lengthened to press, so as not to damage the machine.
Close the sampling nozzle. If the user has a valve on the oil discharge pipe, the valve should be turned open. Turn on the power supply of the motor to make the oil filter work, the normal working pressure of the oil filter changes with the viscosity of the oil filter and the resistance of the discharge pipeline, generally within the range of 0.05-0.3MPa, the initial pressure of filtration is low, and the pressure gradually increases with the growth of filtration time, the increase in the absorption of water by the filter residue and filter paper. When it reaches a certain level (depending on the user's oil requirements), the filter paper should be replaced.
In the process of oil filtration, the oil sample can be extracted by unscrewing the oil nozzle for sampling.
When stopping, open the intake valve first, stop after the oil outlet pipe is no oil, close the oil inlet and outlet valve, stop the oil pump, loosen the pressing device, remove the filter paper one by one, clean the filter paper and filter residue in the filter frame, replace the filter paper and re-clamp the pressure, and cover the oil tank. Finally, clean the coarse filter, re-cover and tighten the bolts after cleaning, and then use it again next time.
Maintenance and safety technology of plate and frame oil filter
1. Keep the machine clean often.
2, filter plate filter frame is more fragile, use to handle gently.
3, push the oil filter, the speed is not too fast, to avoid the machine by violent impact and damage to the equipment.
4, in the compression screw nut should often add lubricating oil.
5, in the use of oil filter, the motor shell should be electrically grounded to prevent poor motor insulation accidents.
6, the connection bolts of the motor support should be checked frequently to prevent loosening.
7, if you find that the amount of oil is insufficient, you can check the following five aspects:
(1) The suction pipe, coarse filter, oil inlet valve and joint are leaking.
(2) Suction pipe passing length (generally not more than 5 meters) or pipe diameter does not meet the requirements.
(3) Whether the inlet pipe and the coarse filter net are blocked.
(4) Whether the suction tube part is equipped with other accessories, causing excessive resistance.
(5) Gear pump, safety valve is loose or not strict.
Machine maintenance and maintenance
a) All sealing surfaces should be coated with anti-rust oil when not in use to prevent corrosion of sealing surfaces (such as filter plates, filter frames, thrust plates, compression plates, etc.).
b) Clean the filter screen, trapezoidal screw, etc., and apply anti-rust oil.
c) All pipe joints should be wrapped and sealed to prevent foreign matter from entering the pipe system.
d) The machine in the process of moving, to prevent impact, overturn, so as not to damage the machine and reduce the performance of the machine.
e) The products should not be stored in the open air to avoid wind, rain, sun, night dew and dust sticking. If conditions are limited, rainproof measures should be taken.
Restrictions on use
This machine is prohibited under the following circumstances:
a) Altitude above 1000 meters.
b) The ambient medium temperature is higher than +40ºC and lower than -10ºC.
c) The relative humidity of air is greater than 85%.
d) There are explosion-proof requirements, the oil filter with explosion-proof motor must be selected.
e) No rain protection facilities or an environment full of water vapor.
f) Filter gasoline, kerosene and volatile liquids containing acid and alkali components.

Troubleshooting method of fault cause

Machine Operation:
1 preparations before operating
1.1 12kg of lubricant needs to be filled into the gearbox.
1.2 After installing the machine, check whether lubricant has been filled in, bolts have been tightened, and handles are operable.
1.3 Check large pulley whether it is loose or blocked, repair it if necessary.
1.4 Adjust the tightness of the belt, switch on the motor and check its rotation direction.
1.5 Loosen the lock nut and tighten the screw to its end, then loose it for3-4circles and then tighten it again for half circle to assure the gap of the residue cake outlet.
2 Operating
2.1 Feeding must be steady and slow at the beginning to avoid blocking
2.2 In the case no cake is extrude outward,return back the screw for 1-2circle .If there is still no cake is observed,machine needs to be shut down and checked ,However, in any case, operating the machine backward is absolutely prohibited normally ,cake looks like tile but not sticky ;thickness is 1-2mm ,inner side is smooth ,out side creases and no oil the surface is allowed.
Cake thickness adjustment: Rotating the adjusting handle clockwise will make the cake thicker, otherwise will make it thinner. Each circle of adjustment (by adjustment bolt left hand T 165x6)will change the thickness 0.4-0.5mm.
2.3 When machine is operating, oil extruding and residue outlet need be checked
Frequently .Normally, most of oil will flow outward from square rods and several front round plates. Broken cake residue indicates the material is too dry; steam emerging from the cake residue indicates that it is too wet; In any case, water content in the raw material must be adjusted from time to time.
Slag slice emerging indicates too much water content and power-like slag low water content .Loose round plates will cause too much slag flowing outwards. However, adequate water content will cause slag flowing outwards from square rods; little slag from round plates is allowed. In a word, water content affects oil output rate, it needs adjusting properly.
3 stopping
3.1 Repeatedly move screw forwards and backwards for several times and let all material resided in the chamber goes out and adjust the cake to the possible thinnest, then stop the machine.
3.2 When machine stops caused by any accident, power supply must be shut down first, then rotate large pulley manually backwards, let the material return out. Then pull out the shaft and clean it. In the case the shaft could not be pulled out, remove the upper case and loose lock nut, separate round plates and clean them one by one.
